I’ve been coming back to Phuket for a couple of years now, and over time I’ve collected a small list of my favourite spots to grab a good cup of coffee. This is not a complete guide and definitely not a “best of” list — just places I personally enjoyed and kept coming back to.
If you happen to stay in some of these areas, this list might be useful — and, hopefully, help you find a few cafés where you can slow down a bit and actually enjoy the moment.
Oyatsuya Cafe

Cozy vibes, very friendly owner from Japan, hence the Japanese aesthetics. Great cookies and buns, really good coffee (cappuccino is only 70 baht), big selection of drinks. The café sits right under a tree, always in the shade: a few tables outside and some seating near the small cabin.
This was my go-to spot for morning coffee when I was staying in this area, especially while living at Eat n Sleep nearby. It’s not calm in a “silent café” way – locals often gather here to chat with the owner, joke around, laugh loudly, talk about random stuff. And honestly, this is part of the charm. Feels alive, human, a bit chaotic in a good way. Highly recommend. Here’s the Google Maps link just in case.
Nearby you’ll find a few more spots worth mentioning. กาแฟต้นซอย (Ton Soi Coffee) was a nice surprise — I grabbed a takeaway hot cappuccino for just 20 baht. It was genuinely good and very hot (which I personally appreciate). Simple, local, no bullshit.

Big Boss Cafe is more on the corporate side — minimalist design, clean lines, predictable menu. Not bad at all, just a different vibe: more polished, less personal. Good if you want something safe and familiar.
And then there’s Penmitr (เป็นมิตร) Coffee & Friends a super tiny place inside, excellent coffee, and only a few chairs outside. Feels almost like someone opened their living room and decided to make really good coffee for friends. Very homey, very intimate, easy to miss, but worth finding.
Kamala Bakery

This place is all about the vibe, the people, and the friendly family running the café. It’s not the best coffee you’ll find around, but it definitely earned a place in my heart. The croissant was quite decent, by the way – I didn’t try much of the other food. I used to come here almost every morning while I was living in Kamala and genuinely enjoyed the company of the regulars. The owners were always welcoming, which makes a bigger difference than perfect coffee.
396 Coffee
Another nice spot in Kamala. Here you can get a cup of quality coffee, good sandwiches, and other solid breakfast options. Once again, very friendly owner. There are quite a few tables, but the place can get full, especially in the morning.
My go-to choice here was a cheese sandwich — simple, but always done right.
Just a few steps away there’s another café called Sync. It’s much more modern and minimalistic, similar to Big Boss. Not exactly my kind of place vibe-wise, but they definitely know how to make good coffee and keep everything clean and well-organized.
Choo’s Croissant

Been here in my first visit to Phuket, remember the place being very cozy, lots of details and nice touches to the interior, tasty pastry and good coffee.
MMA GUY Cafe & Ice Bath
Good coffee, protein shakes, proper MMA vibes. There’s a punching bag, ice bath, and UFC always playing on the TV. Friendly owners, relaxed crowd. You can also buy and smoke weed here, which fits the overall atmosphere quite naturally. A solid spot if you’re into training culture or just want something different from a typical café.
Simply ‘ism cafe’

Located in the jungle near Kathu Waterfall. Definitely worth combining with a walk to the waterfall — lots of steps, but in my opinion it’s one of the most underrated places on the island. There’s also a good sauna nearby, which makes the whole area even better.
The café itself has a huge menu, good food, aesthetically pleasing smoothies, and very friendly staff. A few other good cafés are scattered around the area as well, plus a nice small ice cream shop if you feel like something sweet after the walk.
